In case of severe periodontitis the surgical periodontal treatment is an option and part of our therapy offerings.  This leads to an increased tooth-survival and better aesthetics.

Periodontal gum surgery is used on particularly deep pockets that are inaccessible to conventional periodontal treatment. In addition to the cleaning of the root surface and the removal of exposed inflammatory tissue, it also includes the enhancing of the periodontium and the surrounding bone. For this, tissue regenerating enamel matrix proteins (e.g., Emdogain) and soft tissue grafts are used.

The correction of the soft tissues surrounding the tooth may be required for functional or aesthetic reasons, for instance exposed tooth roots or tongue- and lip-tie. This procedure may also be necessary in cases such as adjusting an uneven gum line for aesthetic reasons.
